Tawanna  Charlton

In addition to her clinical pursuits, Tawanna is dedicated to nurturing the educational journeys of students. She has made a substantial impact by enriching the academic experiences of middle and high school students and providing mentorship to undergraduates interested in STEM fields. With a deep understanding of testing strategies, she also empowers students to excel in standardized exams. Tawanna offers a unique blend of educational excellence, mentorship, and testing expertise that has helped students achieve their educational goals. She is excited to continue to be a source of support and guidance for those looking to excel in their respective educational journeys.

When not providing patient care, Tawanna enjoys spending time with her family, spoiling her nieces and nephew, crafting, baking, and shopping.

About Me

Dr. Tawanna Charlton (she/her) is originally from Tallahassee, FL, and proudly represents the first generation of college graduates in her family. She embarked on a remarkable educational journey, starting with a Bachelor’s degree in biology (minor in chemistry) from Florida State University, and then pursued a Master of Medical Science at Hampton University. This academic foundation paved the way for her admission to the University of Florida Medical School, where she became a member of the esteemed Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (AΩA).

Currently, as a resident in anesthesiology at Emory University, Tawanna continues to excel in the medical field, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional patient care and medical knowledge. However, her passion extends beyond her own accomplishments, as she actively engages in educational endeavors. In 2021-2022, she served on the MD Medical Student Interview Committee, helping select the next generation of medical professionals.
